The battle against depression

I know all too well about depression, thus due to a brain injury I suffered many years ago. I’ve suffered incredible bouts of depression, anxiety, brain fog etc. The human mind is an incredible specimen and it doesn’t need much to get it out of wack. A simple fall where the head collides with a floor or other hard surface can cause severe bouts of depression. Although depression may not rear it’s ugly head for years later, with brain injuries depression may be eminent. Though years of trial and error, I learned how to treat depression along with other health issues though herbs, foods, drinks and more.

The things that really helped me was meditation, herbs and foods. I’ll discuss those in reverse order.

First, the food which helped me the most would have to be fish such as salmon. These fish contain what is known as omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3’s also may be helpful with ADHD and even cancer prevention. However in layman’s terms, the brain needs Omega-3 fatty acids to help in maintaining a healthy brain. You should add fish to one’s diet once or twice pre week to aid in healthy brain function. Salmon, shellfish, tuna, and trout are good sources of omega 3 fatty acids.

Next, the herb that I say helped me the most would have to be lavender. Lavender has an effect that can pamper most anyone on those bad days. Mothers even place agitated babies near the lavender plant do to it’s soothing effect.

Another herb, although I haven’t used it but I’ve heard so much about is the herb Saffron. This herb is said to be great in the the treatment of major depression.

A simple house plant I’ve used and still have is the Jade plant. This plant has helped me with sleep issues and the Jade has also been proven to cleanse the air. We all need help removing impurities from our household air.

Lastly meditation has been proven to be a great tool in the fight against depression. There are different types of meditation, such as yoga, chanting, walking etc. You should research meditation types to find out the best technique for you depression issues.

I’ve written several books that can help with tons of health issues. Hopefully this article will help those in the bout of depression.
